Building Our Future:
A Campaign to Secure Enough Stuff's New Home
Right now, we are operating out of 900 square feet. It's amazing how far we've come with the amount of donations we receive and the volunteers willing to tackle the day to day tasks. We have outgrown the space we use and will be able to serve the community more effectively and to our fullest potential with a larger space.
Check out this video to learn more about our fundraising effort.
Our goal is to expand our space and our ability to serve the community by purchasing the building we currently rent from or one similar in East Peoria.
Reaching this goal will help us:
Host a year-round heating and cooling space for houseless guests to rest and socialize.
We already have free coffee and snacks for visitors but we would like to dedicate a room onsite for this purpose.
Make use of a public bathroom for people to practice essential hygiene on a regular basis.
We currently have 1 small bathroom that is shared by volunteers and visitors. Ideally, we would have a shower stall in the new facility. At the very least, we would be able to offer a restroom to more than 1 person at a time.
Be able to accept more item donations from the community.
Because our shop is so small, we must limit donations to 1 garbage bag accepted per person each day. Otherwise, we quickly become overwhelmed with stuff piling up and nowhere to put it.
Be able to use onsite storage and organizational systems.
Offer an onsite laundry service for houseless friends and to wash donations that are essential to the community but are not yet in clean enough condition.
Stabilize our income by leasing out other commercial units in the building to local businesses.
